Each of us is the ultimate patient who seeks help. We are all afraid of the disease, therefore we need a personal line of behavior that will be a support on the way.
Incorrect decision-making is fraught with troubles, including extreme ones, so you need to understand the algorithms and calculate your actions. This is a typical RISK MANAGEMENT SITUATION; it concerns each of us.
National characteristics that I know closely, due to my own history:
Russia
positive:
- powerful creativity in science and practice
- doctors have a high level of education and a broad outlook, especially in large cities
- high level of clinical examination for specific pathologies and easy access to doctors - narrow specialists
- there are many author’s methods and there are very serious author’s clinics in large cities, including surgical
- excellent accessibility and low price of paid diagnostics (MRI, CT, cardio, FGS, colonoscopy, laboratory, etc., etc.), everything is quick and high-quality, I often send talkers across the border to Russia for examination so as not to waste time on long or very expensive access procedure for examinations in Finland
- specialization in reflexology (including acupuncture), osteopathy, physiotherapy, cosmetology, psychology, balneology, etc. - medical, require compulsory higher medical education, therefore they have a high quality of work
- historically developed system of rehabilitation treatment (after acute diseases, for some working specialties, for neurology, for pulmonology, etc., a system of sanatoriums and health resorts). All this was born under the influence, mainly, of the European medical school in imperium times and still exists both as a methodology and as a system of real sentences; high quality massage therapy, mud therapy, mineral waters, etc.
problem points:
- excessive commercialization of all medicine and the risk of unnecessary imposed manipulations and examinations, so you need to know exactly what you want, and this is not easy if you are ill yourself. Looking for good friends in medicine
- possible sloppiness and sloppiness in relation to the patient, as the attitude to the value of personality and life is less serious than in Europe. This applies to both clinics and consultations, although in large and famous clinics everything is usually good
- non-compliance with the methods and a relaxed attitude towards them, we Russians are very creative people .. although treatment is still better to be carried out exactly according to the developed methodology. But this is the flip side of creative people, they come up with a lot of positive things, so they tend to skip something
- frequent non-observance of deontological principles, for example, excessive speech inaccuracy of the medical staff in a conversation with the patient or his relatives, which can injure or offend. This chatter about the patient is harmless to someone and even invigorates, but for someone it is very dangerous. because many people are doubtful
- unfortunately there are many crooks and charlatans who are trying to make money by deceit on sick people, there are many false teachers and specialists, cheating with healthy drugs and any near-medical and pseudo-medical pseudo-information is ubiquitous
- there may be fake drugs even in a pharmacy
Finland
positive:
- a high level of medical science, which is constantly connected with the world, therefore, all modern developments quickly penetrate into practical medicine
- very strict selection of equipment and drugs, savings to the detriment of efficiency, most of all, there will not be
- Finns strive for order and accurate to the fanaticism of the implementation of technology and instructions, so an excellent level of surgery, dentistry, intensive care, cardiology, ophthalmology, etc. everything where you can write a clear technological instruction. Instructions and technology protect the artist, their implementation transfers responsibility to the one who creates them. And that is the principle. Although it reduces creativity, it gives a good practical effect, especially on large groups of the population as a whole. Therefore, the staff is well trained, the number of complications is very small.
- many well-developed systemic approaches in cardiology (high average age, which is constantly growing), in gynecology, in pediatrics, in gastroenterology, oncology, etc. they are respected and their implementation gives on average good statistics
- politeness and unobtrusiveness, respect for the psyche of patients, strict adherence to deontological principles, paranoid protection of personal data
- even in private clinics, the appointment of unnecessary manipulations and procedures is not found, everyone understands that it is very expensive and protect patients. The pharmacy will always offer cheaper analogues, if any
- excellent cleanliness everywhere, the level of cleaning, aseptic and antiseptic is just excellent
- very high level of private medicine and good medical voluntary insurance to use it (but they are also not cheap, for an ordinary pensioner it is almost inaccessible)
problem points:
- internal cost accounting in municipal clinics, for example, for back pain, an expensive MRI can only be prescribed by a specialist doctor, and a therapist can only prescribe an X-ray that is not needed. The patient has to walk and complain for a long time, and then often still have to wait a few weeks for this specialist, and whether he appoints it or not - it’s written with a pitchfork on the water
- the lack of medical examination (only the psychiatric and narcological directions are noticeable) and a small number of doctors - narrow specialists; in the clinic, the doctor at the reception deals with everything, and gastroenterology, and pulmonology, and neurology, and gynecology and pediatrics, etc. The quality of this work is poor. Sometimes a small number of doctors are generally felt. In the emergency room, you can sit for 6-8 hours, work quickly only with life-threatening problems, and with a fracture of the hand you can sit for half a day, this often happens
- an individual approach in municipal clinics is practically absent, only in the general flow according to the developed methods. If you want a personal approach - go to a private clinic
- кehabilitation medicine is practically absent, mainly only paid physiotherapy, and if you need to recover for a long time - unrealistically expensive. Physiotherapists are not doctors, it’s something between a paramedic, a trainer and a technician, although the technical equipment is good, some techniques work, but only if they are hardware
- massage, reflexology, and similar techniques have nothing to do with medicine at all and are put “out of brackets”. These are all paid services and their level is very low. In this type of activity people are often found without any systemic education, even without secondary medical
ALGORITHMS THAT SENSE WELL UNDERSTAND
Trust or mistrust, where to be treated?
- when it comes to HEALING, and not deal with functional settings, lose weight, improve performance, etc. - doctor and clinic to help you
- even if you do not like the doctor and his approach, only modern diagnostics can give the necessary information, neglecting this is stupid, use all the possibilities to collect information about yourself, change the doctor, and the information will be ready
- a clinic is a system with supervisors, training, information transfer, contact with science, etc. Therefore, it can be a better support than healers and the like. Yes, she is not omnipotent, but her opportunities are great and they are growing all the time, despite the flaws
- a good doctor is careful in forecasts, accurate in words, understands the pathogenesis of the disease, has clinical experience and relies on information. He has colleagues and the ability to consult widely, huge databases of verified data. It’s difficult to evaluate the healer’s experience, he relies on intuition, does not have a supervisor, promises too much, and sometimes even impossible. In the case of complex and dangerous diseases, the loss of time for such “communication-treatment” can be tragic (there are many examples among famous people, Steve Jobs, Andrey Tarkovsky can go on for a long time ...)
- you can use both European traditional medicine and Oriental, but you need an examination and diagnosis! And a clear understanding of your condition and phase of the disease. You need to feel and understand when you need to go to the clinic. For example, if you are treating arthrosis with turmeric, chondroetin, and glucosamine, and you are getting more painful, go to the orthopedist and examine yourself; if you have problems with digestion and you are taking herbal preparations, and suddenly there was a sharp pain - running to the clinic, etc. The main thing here is to understand where the border of the functional with the organic is the moment of "jokes aside"
Some simple specific and important algorithms:
- chest pain, especially behind the sternum, especially for the first time (if for the first time and presses - call an ambulance and immediately) - a mandatory examination in cardiology. There is a possibility that this is intercostal neuralgia. But it can also be angina pectoris, and you may not understand this and it is dangerous. Therefore, an urgent ECG and then examination by a cardiologist and possibly examination of the coronary arteries. If there is no danger - everything is available to you, osteopathy, acupuncture, massage, gymnastics - treat the spine safely
- you have problems with the heart and blood vessels and suddenly small swelling begins to appear, there is no strength, fatigue - a mandatory examination by a cardiologist, something is wrong, maybe heart failure is increasing. Just drinking diuretic herbs and resting is not safe, you first need to make sure that there is no risk
- you are overweight and here fatigue, drowsiness - to the doctor and for a biochemical blood test, sugar, cholesterol, triglycerides, etc. There is a danger of the manifestation of type 2 diabetes, perhaps drugs are needed
- you have heartburn and belching, often after eating the upper abdomen hurts - the risk of gastritis and stomach ulcers. Necessarily required tests for Helicobacter pylori (the main causative agent of these problems, a specific course of treatment is needed) and FGS, you need to see the absence of oncological problems in the stomach with your eye, stomach cancer is a real danger
- you have problems an hour or two after eating, your stomach often bloats, food is poorly digested, especially fatty and mixed - you can certainly watch ads and take Mezim. But it is better to examine the liver and pancreas, because it can be a problem with the gall bladder, and stones in it, and pancreatitis, and unfortunately oncological problems - do not waste time, you can defeat them if you do not lose time
- you have problems with the large intestine, constipation or diarrhea, problems with hemorrhoids, it seems that it doesn’t interfere much - you should definitely examine it, because colon cancer is a common and common disease. It can be treated surgically, but timely diagnosis is needed
- some pain in the lower abdomen of a woman - to the gynecologist and ultrasound. Anything can happen, there is also oncology. Therefore, a simple gynecological examination during saved many women
- examination of the female breast - girls, teach yourself to examine the breast yourself, look on the Internet how to do it, if something seems to you to have changed - some kind of ball or seal has appeared - running to the mammologist and for a mammogram. This oncology is also treated and good, but you need to try to do it on time, without wasting time
- your elderly relative suddenly began to speak vaguely, it seems that the angle of his mouth is crooked, his hand is weak - call an ambulance urgently, this is probably a violation of cerebral circulation, you can have time to dissolve the blood clot in the clinic. And if you do not have time, you can lose it or then you have to treat a person with paresis or paralysis. In this condition, compresses and neck massage - an unacceptable loss of time
- your back aches, like a simple disease. However, try to do an MRI. There may be a disc hernia or infringement of the spine in the foraminal opening. This is important in terms of the choice of treatment tactics. And remember, no ointments are treated! This is just a distraction therapy or a temporary effect on the reflexogenic zone. It only treats that restores mobility, relieves muscle protective spasm and increases interosseous spaces. Accordingly, these are osteopathic manual methods, acupuncture and traction therapy. If this does not help, consult a neurosurgeon. If the leg suddenly begins to lose strength with low lumbar radiculitis, or the foot is poorly controlled - this is a very disturbing symptom, a possible infringement in the spinal canal and the danger of a violation of the pelvic functions
- There are many of these algorithms, I will constantly publish "TACTICAL BEHAVIORAL SCHEMES" in new books of the BIG REFERENCE BOOK OF METHODS AND PRESRIPTIONS FOR ORIENTAL AND OTHER NATIONAL FOLK MEDICINE series for each section of medicine separately
Of course, we all walk under God and do not know our fate. But please remember that there are two main medical problems for people on this planet in developed countries: cardiovascular pathology and oncology. While taken help can extend life for many years.
